So many, and we also watch anything and everything. I don't think of A Charlie Brown Christmas as a movie, but it's our favorite special along with Rudolph (love me some Burl Ives).

It's A Wonderful Life - all time favorite

Holiday Inn
A Christmas Carol/Scrooge - Alistair Sim, Reginald Owen, George C. Scott
Christmas Chronicles - with Kurt Russell - it's surprisingly good!
Holiday Affair - Robert Mitchum
The Bishop's Wife
A Christmas Story

Several more, even a few Hallmark movies over the years I'll admit to liking - favorite of all of those is The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year - Henry Winkler - actual acting and well written. The Christmas Card with Ed Asner has some so-so acting by the romantic leads, but it's a guilty pleasure. We visited Nevada City, CA last summer - cafe was closed, lol.

In a couple of weeks . . . .

We enjoy most of the popular ones, like Christmas Vacation, Elf, Home Alone, Christmas Chronicles, Scrooged, Grinch, etc., and of course all of the the stop motion animated movies, like Rudolph, Frosty, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, etc. We also like the classic A Christmas Carol movies, like 1938 w/Reginald Owen and 1951 w/Alistair Sim…

We entertain the family (extended) at our house every Christmas, and A Christmas Story is always playing in the background during their 24 hrs showing on TBS. If I had to pick a favorite, then it’s definitely It’s a Wonderful Life ?

"The Grinch Who Stole Christmas" None of that Jim Carrey crap, Boris all the way
"Charlie Brown Christmas"

These are the Christmas movies we'll play Christmas Eve and Day. We will also watch:

"The Sting"

"Dirty Dozen"
"Patton"

I avoided Elf for years, but finally watched it. I thought it was a fine comedic turn by Will Ferrell with many good cameo turns by various actors including Bob Newhart as Santa. I had probably avoided seeing it in about thirty-five instances, so it was a pleasing holiday surprise. I like all the standards starting with White Christmas and It's A Wonderful Life, but I also really like to turn off the devices and do a little singing or reading, to keep the holidays personal. I want to know what I and my inner circle are feeling and thinking, not just what the professionals would like me to think and feel. As a youngster, not particularly opera-inclined, i always enjoyed a re-played broadcast of the TV production of Amil and the Night Visitors.
