Volume of the chamber is one thing, and shape of the chamber is another.
My LJ Peretti has a chamber that's almost an inch wide and it makes for a somewhat uneven smoke, it's hard to keep the whole surface lit and when I can, it burns through a lot of tobacco quite fast.
3/4 inch chamber width is good. The taller the chamber just makes for that much longer a smoke.
