So good to finally put a face to the name!

Happy Father’s Day bro.

We had cornbread and I slow cooked some ribs in honey, whisky and soy sauce.
We usually have a quiet Father’s Day - home-cooked meal or a BBQ

My son has been helping out with things for quite a few weekends.
He deserved a meal with a few nice bottles

Looks good to me.
Except the booze, I dont like booze....except some beers.

My mom was not a very good cook. She worked full time and raised us 3 kids. She cooked dinner 7 days a week, unless she picked up KFC, she loved KFC.
But my dad was fond of her cooking after 60 years of marriage.
Her roasts and pork chops were dry.
Her spaghetti sause was Ragu or Prego from a jar. The vegetables were from a can or frozen bag....you get the point.
But she was known for a couple things.....meatballs and City Chicken.
City Chicken is chunks of pork and veal alternated on a wood skewer. Then rolled in egg, then Ritz crackers and shallow fried.
Her meatballs were just good.
Sinse she died in 2021 my dad eats like a bird. My sister and I bring him dinner, or take him out quite often.
He is very well known for his baking but hes just not interested in cooking savory dishes for himself. And he cant live on homemade bread and pies!!
Anyways, on his birthday and father's day my wife and I go to his house and make either City Chicken, or spaghetti and meatballs. Im the only one who can replicate my mom's recipes.....pretty well.
I dont use veal in the City Chicken because....well, veal is tasteless. I use pork and lamb. Its really the Ritz crackers and frying that makes it good. :)
I always leave a dozen or so meatballs without sause for him to pick at the next day.
