My favorite time of the year is fast approaching! Fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas! I began pipe smoking last November and had absolutely no clue about seasonal blends or where to find them! With that said, what are your recommendations for seasonal/holiday blends? I'm definitely going to try out Sleepy Hollow from Strauss Tobacconist because I love all things 🎃.

I'm not a fan of Aromatics except Lakelands. So for Halloween, I crack open any of the Old Ones series by C&D they have plenty of great natural and unusual flavors without getting all chemically I really like Dreams of Kaddath and they are great in the fall. As far as Christmas , McClelland's Christmas cheer can still be easily got on the resell market and is worth it to cellar and bust out once a year.

Interesting, I just bought an almost 2 year old tin of Dreams of Kaddath at a B&M. I'll have to crack that open this Fall.

It is curious that tobacco and alcohol taste better during the colder months. Here, in the south of Spain, we call autumn, cool summer. I could smoke some English blend with some ice rocks in my balls, or inside the fridge at home. I mean, here the real winter lasts a month and a half at 17 degrees, 62.6 °F. So it's crazy to know what shit I can smoke today.

I primarily smoke the same blends year round with a few minor exceptions. During the fall, month of October, I usually open a tin of Warped Scarecrow. It's one of the few aromatics I enjoy. It goes well with the cooler temps. Around Christmas I dip into some of my few remaining tins of McClelland Xmas Cheer and also will open a tin of Cringle Flake. I might even have the occasional bowl of C&D We Three Kings or Golden Days of Yore if the mood strikes.

C&D Golden Days of Yore is very good. However, I don’t think it’s available every year. While not holiday-themed, Sillem’s Musketeer and Hearth&Home Russ’ Snickerdoodle both evoke Christmas for me. Musketeer is based on cube-cut burley, so it has more oomph than the typical aromatic.

Wilke’s Rum Cake also recommended, though for me that’s more for Easter as it tastes a lot like Polish babka
