Drew estate Central Park Stroll is my go to blend in the fall and during the holidays. Mohawk River is a close second. Last year I had a family member on my wife's side of the family come up to me and say she had to quickly come over hand smell me and my pipe before she left. I told her I was spreading Christmas cheer and go ahead. She frantically waved the smoke towards herself and ran to leave.
Too many people on this forum proudly announce their dislike of aromatics as if they are beyond such things. Too many ciggertes maybe I don't know. But I do know I love a good aromatic and I enjoy it just as much as the listener. Ya I call them listeners.

I have been smoking a lot of C&D Corn Cob Pipe. Have the dregs of a tin that I need to finish up before I crack another.
I also grabbed a sampler pack from Pipeworks & Wilke recently. Though they are a bit too Aro to smoke alone, I have been mixing their Vermont Maple, 50/50 with C&D Burley Ribbon Cut. Very nice smoke with some oompf and a great flavor and room note.

A STRONG +1 with MSO on the Iwan Ries 3 Star Blue... new to me, but WONDERFUL on the back porch with autumnal overtures everywhere here!! Also Mac Baren's Old Dark Fired and also Dark Twist I've been really enjoying on the newly chilled back porch!

While we of course can smoke what we want when we want it but I am sure there are blends that would smoke better at different times of the year than others. Not enough that you would not smoke them at other times but the little subtle differences. I say this in relation to cologne and perfumes. In the summer you dont want to wear something sweet and spicey. You want something clean and fresh. Pipe tobacco has "the room note" going for it and smell is involved. But as has already been said smoke what you like when you want to.........

Tom, be assured no offense was taken. Yes, I did actually consider the wide variances of the climate in some/most parts of the US throughout the year. I personally wonder if I could live with that. Yes, seasonal change but not 80 degrees plus/minus...that would freak me out.
Rx2man, forgive me but are you saying you wear perfume?
Regards,
Jay.

I believe it's a psychological thing. However, when the weather cools I like my heavier blends. The aromatics remind me of the holiday smells of my youth. Hell, I'm only 63, I'm still in my youth.;0)

Colder nights behove stronger, fuller tasting blends, I find. I'm an out of doors smoker though and my requisite snow pants and down coat may play a part in my tastes. I like big perique blends this time of year. Everything already tastes like pumpkin around here so I prefer to keep my pipe unsullied.

This is when I start breaking out the blends containing Lat but I'm also really loving Strauss Sleepy Hollow, it's perfect for this time of year!
