Fall and pipes just seem to go together, and Fred's October piece sets a nice tone for that. Check it out here.
Very true! I think it reminds me of the burning leaf piles as a kid. I haven't found a blend with that non-sweet tanin tang of oak leaves though.A good English blend pairs well with a nice fall day.
So your saying you like to smoke year roundfall is great. I also like pipe smoking in the winter and spring and summer but fall is certainly the preferred one.
Cool look’n dog. I have a pipe smoking buddy tooWe’ve been spending a lot of time on the deck the past couple of weeks - fall has started well!View attachment 172289
Beautiful dog. More people should know English Setters, calmer than their more celebrated cousins...We’ve been spending a lot of time on the deck the past couple of weeks - fall has started well!View attachment 172289
No latakia for me, but cooler weather does make me crave the flavor of DFK.Fall is definitely my favorite time of year. Starting to transition over now from my "hot weather" tobaccos -- primarily Virginias and VaPers -- to the blends that I enjoy smoking most this time of year: Scottish, English and dark fired Kentucky. (Not that I don't smoke all these to one degree or another all year long, but some blends just seem more suited to certain times of the year, or certain times of the day...)
Old Dark Fired is great anytime of year -- one of my favorite blends (if not my single absolute favorite) and can be enjoyed Spring, Summer, Fall or Winter. It's my preferred "go to" evening smoke, especially...No latakia for me, but cooler weather does make me crave the flavor of DFK.
