I just bought one on the Bay for $2.25, plus shipping. Hope it makes it here to C.A.

I just went to Hobo Pipes and left a comment, but it didn't take. I got directed to google requiring me to register. So I'll comment here. Great looking bowls. I'd like to own one. Is there a discount for P.M. members.

pipesmokerinbelgium,
Best advice is to contact the shop where you purchased it. Any reputable dealer will stand behind their products.

We have 3 Falcons - 2 straight and 1 that has a slight bend. I purchased the slight bend for my wife and I was lucky, it came with 2 bowls - one hadn't been smoked.

I really like my Falcons - they're great for travel. My 2 new bowls came from Rich at 4noggins. I wish the stain was alittle lighter, but they were a perfect fit and of good quality. My wife claimed the 3 little "coffee break" bowls and they are cleaning up nicely.
Just got an email from Rich that the colored Falcons are no longer available. I was planning on getting one for my wife for Christmas. Now, I'm going to get her a Shillelagh.
Unless you have the time to clean up a used one (relatively easy) buy a new one, that way you'll know what you're getting. One of mine was a "surprise" off of ebay. I also have a Dr. Grabow Viking which is very similar - bowls are hard to find, but I've found that the Drymaster bowls will interchange with it.

I have 3 Falcons as well. A bent and a shilleleigh unsmoked and an estate one I cleaned up. I bought the first two on ebay from the grandaughter refered to earlier in the thread. She was awesome to do business with.
Nice pipes. The estate one came with 5 bowls so I haven't shopped for others, but when I was researching the Shilleleigh, there were always tons of new bowls on ebay. Usually under $45 shipped.

Hi Everyone,
I just recently bought my lathe and because i'm a pipe smoker i decided i might have a go

at pipe making for myself.

As i have all ways wanted another bowl for my falcon i started thinking about the 4 start thread problem.

my fellow Blogger Hobo Hoot kindly sent me 10 Briar blocks to play with

they came for Alexander in Greece.

So what i have done is turned the bottom of the bowl to be a good fit into the stem.

and to seal i machined a grove for an O ring.

To fit the bowl you just push and turn the bowl on.

The bowl seats properly seals and is very firm.

I don't think you could pull it off with out unscrewing it.

I have only made bowls for myself so far

but if anyone wants one let me know.

There's a post on our blog of the first bowl i made.Turning my first Bowl

Its had lots of smokes the cake is formed well and i am surprised how dark

it is getting.

There are some inclusions in the Briar i think they add character

Thanks for going to my blog Spud.

Love it my friend. Everybody's my friend BTW, unless you do something to move in to a diffrent category. I have just become a Falcon fan myself. If you are looking to make a few bucks for your work, PM me I wouldn't mind a couple custom bowls.

Just got the Shillelagh that I won on the bay. It has an orange bowl that is hardly smoked, and the pipe itself doesn't require much clean up and polish. (Don't worry, I'll remember to take before and after pictures).
After getting a rash of incredibly dirty pipes that were passed of as in good condition, this one is a beaut!!!

I've contacted Hobo about an art deco bowl for it, since it's going to be a Christmas present for my wife.

I swapped this Alco and a bent Falcon and another metal pipe for a handmade Falcon bowl

the other day.

The thread is different from the Falcon of course.

So i turned a new bowl for it.

If anybody wants one let me know.More pics at Hobo Pipes

A falcon will probably be my next pipe. I'm intrigued by them. Lots of guys in the UK love them to smoke lakelands, which I'm very fond of. I have yet to find a medium sized pipe that my beloved Ennerdale Flake tastes good in, but I would love to find a pipe that did, because my small pipes only last about 10 minutes these days, and when I get home, that's just not long enough!

Wow, I love those new bowls Hobo! I just picked up a Falcon (my first metal pipe) at a junk shop in Virginia yesterday, a cool $5. I'll do a restore on it, but the bowl won't look as nice as Hobo's!
