It has to be really annoying for guys like Wayne Teipen (who slowly worked his way up the pay ladder as his he developed and refined the craft) to see these guys in their early 20's brand new to the game with a year or two in charging double the price. The crazy thing is without guys like Teipen et al sharing ideas on the pipe makers forum there would be none of these 2 years in/ $700 pipes because such carvers would be learning the ropes and not riding coat tails.

I really enjoyed all the galleries! I actually collect pictures of collectable high-end and/or artisanal pipes... GREAT fantabulous fodder for pipe dreams!!!

Thanks Shaintiques, they seem like really decent guys and I would like to throw them some business. I really love those Sakurai pipes. The shaping on those bulldogs... 8O and the rainbow inlay on the "whale" pipe :mrgreen:
