Missouri Meerschaum has been collaborating with other outfits on special editions of their corncob pipes. I bought the MM/Dagner poker nosewarmer, and I now have taken delivery of the Cornell & Diehl/MM bent no-filter Charles Towne Cobbler Corn Cob Pipe, and am enjoying the first bowl, appropriately C&D Night Bayou. Both pipes boast acrylic stems that will not need to be replaced like the standard plastic stems. Since I was retrofitting my MM cobs with Forever stems, this stock feature is a savings, though the pipes run a little more than standard cobs, about $23.99 most places. My two have good broad deep bowls so give a full length smoke with almost any blend, and have all of the admirable qualities of MM cobs in general. I'm getting zero corn cob flavor, and the new pipe is rendering a full range of Night Bayou flavors in a smooth and elegant way. These are fine, light weight, handy pipes. I no longer think of cobs as disposable. Once broken in -- and they barely need breaking in -- they become instant favorites. Most will find them good and fast friends almost immediately. Highly recommended. If anyone can educate me on the name of this pipe, the Charles Towne Cobbler Corn Cob Pipe, I'd appreciate it.

I have one of those! I love it! Smoked everything from P.A. to Captain Black. It has been a good smoker so far. I'm going to be smoking some Labrador in it later. It's been good for everything I've tried so far. I have a Balken Sasieni that I also want to try in it once I finish off this jar of Labrador. Got it for free for setting up an account and place an order at another site. The only one that still had more Labrador. Enjoy that Cobbler Mso! I enjoy mine!

mike, those images don't show up for me, but this pipe is featured at the top of the MM pipe page, so I suspect you have it right. I think the stem is a little less ruby red than in the online images. I think the dark finish on the cob bowl is particularly pleasing.

That is the name of it. I had one, but the tenon was in terrible condition and stripped the mortise to a point that the stem would just fall out. They said it was a Quality Control miss, but I'll stick with their classics line from now on.

Chasing, what a bummer! I won't hurry to remove the stem and hope for the best. Collaborating with C&D especially, there shouldn't be any quality glitches. I've been lucky with Peterson, with their sometimes spotty quality control, so I'll hope that theme holds with this C&D/MM collaboration pipe.

They said it was an issue with the first run. All the bugs should be worked out now.

Yeah, it looks threaded where it should look like a smooth push stem. It looks like a practical joke. MM does such a good job, but this is an error for sure. It looks like someones' "buddies" got together and did a mean prank.

I'm amazed they wouldn't have had quality control all over a first run, especially in a collaboration with another pipe company. Producing the defective pipe is not unusual on a first run, but to not screen out the flawed pipe is serious carelessness. I love MM, but they're human, we see.

How are the Charles Towne pipes holding up after a few weeks use on em?
I missed out on last production run end of May. I picked up a Dagner Poker from MM and love it. I had only used Eatons prior, mostly for a quick, clean smoke for trying new blends I thought had the potential to ghost.
I’m really enjoying this nose warmer poker, so much so I want to pick up more (including a Mark Twain w/ Forever stem).
A Charles Towne is definitely on the list!

I just recently completed buying the entire Cobbit Series cobs. All of them smoke great, just like all the MM cobs. I have the Charles Towne Cobbler and the Dagner Cob but don't smoke the Dagner all that much. I wish that MM had made the Cobbler and Dagner in a natural bowl. The bowls on those two tend to get hot and I'm a slow smoker.

Thats strange Ray ... my Dagner smoked a little warm the first few bowls, but it’s settled down a lot. After a week of smoking, and getting the bottom carbonized (and using my tamp to work the ash to the sides and under the shank), it smokes fantastic ... barely warm to my fingers and I can happy puff some burley!

That Cobbler reminds me of a Country Gent that I stuck a MM Freehand stem on. The stem isn't the pretty red color, though.

Both my Dagner and my Charles Towne burn cool. I'm not sure if it is these particular cobs or this crop, but they do not burn hot.

I have the MM Dagner Poker and I love it. I really like the looks of the Charles Towne Cob.
