The history of pipes is an abiding fascination.
My pile of pipes covers a lot of eras and styles, ranging from 1883 to last year, Britwood factory pipes to American and Danish artisan pipes, from classical canon to gonzo.
The only thing they have in common is that they smoke well.
As for shapes that I don’t collect, I don’t go for pipes that look melted, fussy shapes like the ballerina or Ramses, nor am I a fan of Dublins, bulldogs, or lovats.
