It's really interesting seeing the variation in blasts ranging from Cannoy to Cook. I've been making a few small changes since my first blasts in January. I thought it might be interesting to see how small changes make a big difference- My rig is a single stage Kobalt 80 gallon 5hp with 16cfm at 90lbs. I use a Scatblast 850 blast cabinet with glass beads (stole it on Craigslist for $450- Probably have only have $1,400 total in equipment and material).
The first picture is the result of dropping my pressure from 120 to 110 psi- the result? Deeper blasts with more definition. Instead of everything being blasted away, more of the harder briar remains. The second pipe is one of my standards- the reverse calabash Snapping Turtle. On this one, I blasted it, and sanded some areas back to smooth- gives a nice combination of textures when you hold it....I love experimenting!
