What’s wrong with aro’s? I smoke everything even aros.

Time to sell my pipes.
I wouldn't say there is something wrong with aromatics as much as I would say I like Perique home blended much better. Your preference may be quite different than mine. For either of us there is probably tobaccos we prefer over others. For me that is definitely not an aromatic. You may not like my home blended Perique. Actually if you ask Janie you definitely will not like my home blended Perique.

I am helping a couple people carve a pipe and giving them some pipe tobacco. Do I give them my special home blend with three types of Perique tobacco? No, that stuff is sacred; I even capitalize Perique. No, my Perique is mine and you can only get it from my cold dead hands. I do however have some aromatic tobacco (notice the lack of capitalization). I really don't like aromatic tobacco . I can give all of that away. I want to give all of that away. Some people like aromatic tobacco. So I am not giving my best I'm giving my worst. Does that make me evil? You can make an argument that giving anyone aromatic tobacco is evil.
People have different preferences. So giving aros to someone who likes aros seems OK.
Ideally I think a pipe afficionado would try all major blend groups even if they didn't expect to like them. Out of curiosity I tried Erinmore Flake, Haunted Bookshop and O.J. Krantz because I knew some people think that they are pretty bad. Erinmore Flake turned out fine. I never had the Mixture version. HB and OJK seemed a little sub-par in quality to me, but that might be a mistaken subjective impression. HB gave me a very slight raspy harsh after-feeling on the lungs. I don't know how common that is with HB.

You can just give people a warning if you give them what you think is a bad blend.

Unless a blend is discontinued, I can't see enough reason to never give small samples of it to friends. I think PA is an amazing classic special nostalgic blend, but you can buy it online still at low prices, for instance.

The one guy I'm helping carve a pipe has smoked a pipe a lot longer than myself. He has an abundance of tobacco some of which he plans to share when he arrives. He just never has carved his own pipe. The second guy smoked a pipe before, quit, now chews tobacco and is interested in smoking a pipe again. In terms of variety of tobacco I think we will have four or five choices one of which is mine.
