It changes from month to month. Right now it’s probably a tie between my Cavicchi Dublin, Bruce Weaver Brandy, and Moretti Volcano. Why? Grain, Craftsmanship, Aesthetics, and Performance. It’s that simple for me.

Ok, so I've heard a lot about "estate" and the "Estate market". What is it?
The first one pictured (I'm assuming the Cavicchi Dublin?) definitely looks like one I would enjoy! The second (Bruce Weaver Brandy?) also looks like one I would like. Not sure about the last one.
Estate pipes are used pipes. Plain and simple. For the most part they are cleaned and sanitized. Some are not, If you buy off ebay. But most of the pipe websites they are cleaned and polished. It is a nice way to get a pipe at a discount price.
Right now, I personally have been hooked on this Pipe By Lee!
Well it sounds like I need to start looking into Estate Pipes then!
They are great. Being as I am extremely cheap old bastard I bought lower end pipes even cheaper than normal. But pipe smoking can be a very cheap hobby or very expensive habit depending on your taste and wallet
If you like that shape/style you need a Mark Tinsky Chubby Author. He makes them smooth, as well as rusticated. I got this one (barely smoked) on the aforementioned estate market for a mere $80.
For pure “smokeability,” I think MM cobs are tough to beat.
In general, it's Savinelli and Grabow for me; the Savinellis because they smoke very well, look nice, and don't cost an arm and a leg (and most of my Savinellis are estate anyway which is even better). The Grabows because they smoke nice and if you beat one up or lose it (both of which i do often around here) you won't cry over it. Also, I use balsa filters and both of these use them as well.
I've really come to think the same way! BUT, in all fairness, I've only really tried about 5 different pipes total.
I currently have one Dr. Grabow, and I enjoy it. It was actually my first ever pipe!
Cobs smoke as well as anything else.
If you like the author shape, the Savinelli 320 is sort of the flagship representation. They are easy to find, available in dozens of finishes and price points (from $40 to $600) and they are extremely popular and well made. On the estate market you can likely find one quite cheap, or you could go with their more affordable Rossi line and get one new. They are great smokers.
