I have several different cigars in my humidor.
I also have my "Everydays" that are reasonable in price because I don't want to spend $7.00 a day.
I smoke my better one twice a week and the cheaper ones 4 times a week.
What is your less expensive regular to go to?

I no longer have a daily driver cigar. My cigar smoking is so infrequent recently, I just smoke through the cigars ive collected over the years, or buy a stick when I see one I want.
Our local reservation has some very inexpensive prices on cigars.
But, when I did smoke one or more cigars a day, it was Indian Tabac Connecticut, or several other Rocky Patel sticks. And Hoyo de Monterey too.

I like Rocky Patel. Did you ever do the factory over run/mistakes or whatever they are called RP?

Arturo Fuentes lower cost models are good but they’ve come up a little in price. Any Italian dark fired cigar is my next tier down and while they satisfy, the draw and the evenness of burn are lacking and it has been too annoying. So I am back to looking for a hand rolled cheapie like you, but a few bucks less than the most basic fuente im seeing these days. Maybe seconds are the way as stated above. ..hmm

How is the burn and draw?

I've only ever had a few bad ones.

I usually get them from Cigarpage.com and they come pretty wet. I'll let them spend some time in a box with a 65% Boveda, and they burn good.

I'm no cigar expert on fine cigars, but I'm an expert on cheap cigars with poor construction consistency. They ain't those.

@Brad H

seconds/mistakes are what they sound like.

overruns are what you want.

overruns are just cigars produced under contract but they made a few too many, so they can’t sell them as the label they were made for but they can sell them unlabeled for less. I assume this happens in-house and out of house but don’t know. You get the gist, this is the real gold if you like the brand that over ran…but they never disclose the brand in my experience.

No idea what I used to get. It was a bundle of 20 or 25 RP sticks. I smoked the 1990/1992. When I bought them they were around 50-60$ for a bundle (no box)

I’ve only heard of seconds from RP. But apparently their first selections have such a high standard that their seconds are very good. RP seconds are atypical seconds due to their high quality. They’re more akin to an overrun from what I read.

Many times but they are inconsistent most times, wrapped too tight etc.
Sorta a crap shoot but none are throw a ways.
Thanks.

I know they aren’t special, but I've never been done wrong by an Arturo Fuente Curly Head.
I always have them on hand, they even smoke good the next day if you don't finish it,
Oliva Serie O

Those are just about perfect IMO.

They aren't super cheap, but they can be had for $3.00 or $3.50 if you keep your eyes peeled.
I like them also. Have a couple Churchills left and gonna order more.
Thanks

I only smoke cigars while playing golf. I get better than decent Cigars from Cigar Page at less than $4 per stick. Mostly Toro and Robusto, Rocky Patel, BDL and Graycliff. Some Oliva Serie V, Avo Syncro or Fogato when the deals are good enough.
