Got mine in Ireland on a whim, and yes, Ace hardware stocks strike-anywhere matches!
I'm grateful this is not a hobby of "need".Need?
Really?
So, in large part due to your recent post I purchased a couple of match strikes- one is an absinthe branded reproduction second and the other is a pretty plain vintage American made unit. I’m very happy with both so thanks for your original post about these.
Do you dress right or left? So, in large part due to your recent post I purchased a couple of match strikes- one is an absinthe branded reproduction second and the other is a pretty plain vintage American made unit. I’m very happy with both so thanks for your original post about these.
Dumb question but from the picture you posted it looks like you strike your matches in a downwards direction - do you? I strike them in an upwards direction which just seems natural. Clearly it’s of no consequence (a bit like which way you hang the Tp role in your bathroom) but striking downward feels really awkward to me.
Come on man, where’s your sense of adventure?Do you dress right or left?
Striking down seems to me to be less likely to ignite the rest of the matches. Not that it wouldn’t be entertaining, mind you.
I’ve thought that would be a good pub game. Whoever immolates the match strike buys the next round of drinks.Come on man, where’s your sense of adventure?

So many mysterious nuances to uncover. Now I'm going to have to make a trip to Baton Rouge if it survives the next couple of days.

They also have a location in Paris.
So I don't know if the stamping is where it was made or just the name of the shop it was made for.
