So, in large part due to your recent post I purchased a couple of match strikes- one is an absinthe branded reproduction second and the other is a pretty plain vintage American made unit. I’m very happy with both so thanks for your original post about these.
Dumb question but from the picture you posted it looks like you strike your matches in a downwards direction - do you? I strike them in an upwards direction which just seems natural. Clearly it’s of no consequence (a bit like which way you hang the Tp role in your bathroom) but striking downward feels really awkward to me. :)

Striking down seems to me to be less likely to ignite the rest of the matches. Not that it wouldn’t be entertaining, mind you.
