Wow...Two Savinelli Oscars could easily run you $50 each, and the Comoys possibly more... That's a major steal you've got there...

Jealous, green with envy, why not me? Great score zwerx921.
You might want to consider giving her some additional cash.

Great score. That is the problem with an estate collection. When a spouse does not know the value. I would have felt guilty buying that collection for a hundred bucks. I have a few friends that know my pipe and tobacco collection. I need to put something in place so if I go unexpected my wife and kids have contacts to get a decent return on my investment.

Great collection, you never need to buy another pipe. Did she know the value of them all? I'd sell a few on ebay and split the cash with her.

I have a book in my pipe room, the value of the pipe, an estimate on the low side, I have noteations on some pipes I want given to my friends, the other day I did a quick tally and it was astounding at how much I had spent, written in the book are pipe dealers who I trust to get my wife or children some monies back, I have noted and told my oldest son which ones he has to keep to pass on, Birth year Dunhill ODA Root Briar 1943, the war years, that being said there is no gurrantee that they will do it, just don"t want some guy beating them out if what is rightly theirs, not saying you did wrong but you have to protect your family. I believe you need to go back and give her another 100$ IMHO.

Whoa. Tell you what, I'll give you $150 for it and you can walk away with a slick profit. A 50% return on investment, is practically unheard of you know.

Hello all... I want to share my find from this past weekend. I got a call from a elderly lady letting me know that she has some tobacco pipes that her late husband had. . . . I payed $100 for all of them here in the picture.
Horse for courses, I know. And surely I'm a capitalist. And caveat vendor. And all that. And finders keepers, losers weepers. Etc.
But blowing up that picture and taking just a cursory look and I conclude that I would not really be able to enjoy owning those particular pipes if I'd paid a widow $100 for the lot.
But maybe that's just me.

You wouldn't even have to give her more now. You could sell a couple of them and give her the profits. Good karma and all that.
