Was wondering if anyone had an idea of the dates and maybe values of these. I just picked them up at an estate sale. Both are unsmoked.

Dunhill 001 Collector

Sasieni 8 Dot. Fishtail signature. Other side says LE66 F Hand. Seal is broken, but the tag appears signed and stamped, "Limited Edition"

I can't comment on the values, but I'm reasonably sure that the Sasieni is a limited edition commemorative made by the successor owners of Sasieni in the early 1980's IIRC.

Yes , so it look to me. About the dunhill , it seems like one of those made in or around 1975 wich were seen by then as low quality. I do not know the value in the market but i do not like any of the two.

Seems to be the same pipe, but the one at SP doesn't have that funky taper.

The Dunhill should be easy. It's one of the few British factory, maybe the only other than Parker, that has a date stamp. Should be on the side of the shank opposite the logo stamp.

That's correct. They don't come up very frequently. If sold by one of the premier ebay pipe resellers, it would bring over $500 (if unsmoked)

That's not how the Dunhill date stamps work. That would make too much sense. Could be 1980. Here's a dating guide. However, if you post a picture of the stampings one of the Dunhill nerds on the forum will be quickly able to tell you the year.

He's not wrong though. Most of them are just basic interpretations of French shapes. Oddly enough, he's been here longer than many of us.

The Sasieni- less than 100 or so made.

I’ve seen 2 come up for sale in the past 10 years. Last one was 2018 or so, and it sold for $1700.

Of course times change. Whether or not you would get that now is hard to say.

The price that this Barling straight grain got was about what I expected it to get. I'm not convinced that it's been topped. There's slight texture to the rim consistent with grain shrinkage. The stampings are crisp. The stem has more wear, not unusual for a pipe whose stem has been removed...
