I mostly smoke artisans but regularly smoke Castellos and Radice. Numerous factory pipes smoke fantastic.

Agree, however your post raises the old question regarding the blurring of lines between artisan and factory when one speaks of Castello, Radice and some others.

Only if you aren't speaking of commission work from an artisan. Those houses make some nice looking pipes but I can't abide their button work.
