Estate Pipe Question

I see a lot of things sold these days that are said to have belonged to a specific person.I don't seem to see that with pipes though.When you read or hear of famous pipe smokers of the past do you ever wonder what happened to their pipes? I think it would to be neat to actually own a pipe that I knew was once smoked by someone famous.

I know jefferson davis's pipe is in a civil war museum, other than that, I have no idea

I would say alot are in musuems or with the fam. The estate pipe market is just recently became big. I can remember in the 70s and 80 you couldnt give away a used pipe

Some of Aaron Spellings pipes were on Ebay a few months ago. I bid on a Dunhill, but didn't win it (pipes brought normal ebay prices)

I saw a GBD on E-Bay that's was claimed to have been from the estate of Andy Rooney.

Wasn't lonestar hinting that he might have SWR's pipe he smoked before his execution, that would be cool!
