Thanks to Kashmir, I've been looking at Comoy pipes and I found this one on Ebay, a Comoy Golden Matt bent pre Cadogan era with the 3 piece logo. Very reasonable price and it came in very excellent condition.

It is a bent and the stem is extremely comfortable to clench. In addition, it is light weight and a cleaner goes straight through.
This is not their top manufacture, but it smokes very well on my first bowl with Dunhill Nightcap (which I have stored for about a year).
Thanks for the lead, Kash.

Congrats Allan on a fine looking vintage Comoy's bent. It does look like a 225, as Al mentioned. Comoy made fine thin stems, perfect for clenching. And there's a nice field of bird's eye on that one too. Don't forget to thoroughly clean the shank on those old estates. Enjoy!

Yes, Kashmir , I did go through it with everclear and bristle but it was surprisingly clean
Thin stem, not a bad button. I must say, I think I got a steal!

Sounds good. Hey, where's the "like" button? Kidding aside, I've long sought out these older Comoys on EBay. They usually smoke great, and, if you're lucky, can be had for a song. Congrats.

Allen, great looking classic. Awesome birdseye on that and it looks like it should be great for clenching. How does the stem feel in comparison to some of your artisan pipes? Does the pipe smoke cool and dry? I have been eyeing Comoy for a while as I have never smoked one.

Great to hear from you
I would say that the Comoy I have would better be compared to the dunhills I own rather than the American artisans, such a rad, Scott Thile, Crawford
These American craftsmen make pipes with thicker walls and more pronounced stems than the single comoy I in own, or compared to the 6 or so Dunhills
Naturally, only trying one Comoy it would be difficult and unfair to generalize, but this is my gut feeling. This pipe is easy and comfortable to clench and I really like the way it smokes, even though it is not a high end blue riband
I like it and am going to look for more

Allan:
I have several Comoy's, and their seconds, in my collection and they all smoke exceptionally well. (I'm talking everything from a Blue Riband down to a Sunrise.)
You bought a beautiful pipe, Allan, and I know it will smoke well for you.
