Esoterica Margate

I have 8oz of this arriving via the brown Santa tomorrow. This is the first time

I have purchased it. Anybody care to comment about their experiences with it?

It's an excellent English blend that often gets overshadowed by Penzance. If you enjoy it, check out Pembroke, which is the same blend topped with Cognac.

It is a fantastic English tobacco. Salty, leathery, smokey and very slightly sweet. A very nice full creamy mouth feel too. the Va is top notch and blended very well with its condimental tobaccos. Enjoy.

Got 8 oz Margate coming tomorrow, along with 8 tins of Penzance. Both firsts for me!

Simply said, its a sensational blend. As KC said, it gets overshadowed by Penzance in reputation but Margate is wonderful. Its a much more refined blend. In culinary terms, Penzance is a great grilled steak. You eat it, you love it, you want it regularly. Margate (and Pembroke, which I actually like slightly better) is like a chef made fillet mignon with merlot butter reduction sauce. You just want to take your time and savor it and enjoy the mingling flavors. You may find it a little moist but try it both moist and dried slightly.

Haunted nailed it on the head, once you try Margate, you'll want it around for the special times when it's perfect. I also really enjoy And So To Bed.

Sadly, not my cup of meat. I do have a sealed tin dated Feb. 2005 (probably tinned in late 2004?) that I'd love to trade for either Ramsgate, another very liquorice-y (non-latakia) tobacco, or...something?

Luv it...have 2 tins marked '07 and working on an '06 tin. AND SO TO BED is right up there as well, cant compare it to Penzance (here we go) cuz i dont like it!

I just added it to my shopping list for the next order. After the last order I swore this was going to a light order month..... So far the list is not supporting that. Looking forward to trying it.
