Just looked at the site. There is no bid on the above listing. This is the opening price, set by the seller. Lest one consider this completely insane, 3 2oz tins of Penzance are going for north to $300 each.

Given all of the "8"s involved in the Dunbar listing, including the "character" of the description, this appears to be targeted at Asian buyers.

It’d appear that that’s where the bags of gold & much of the Germain’s has been landing of late…I mean the Asian markets, especially the Virginias. They pay higher prices for the stuff, so it often prices US buyers out and limits the stock we get over here. ☕️

Yep. Been like that for close to a decade.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. For I am a highly successful wealthy man of good standing in my community. Also, anything I touch prospers and my house commands a view of our small town, at night I turn the outdoor lights on so everyone can see my status……being above the people.

My purchase of this tobacco will only reinforce what I have said that I am a cut above the rest and you all need to know that.

Right…..back to my cheap as chips NZ draught beer……then get the kids in for dinner and bed…..then cut some firewood so our house stays warm over winter. O….i might fit in a bowl of BR Bourbon Whiskey at some stage and I’ll darn well enjoy it!

Price of the tobacco doesn't shock me any longer. But! $22 for shipping and handling?!?! Oh damn. Even our favorite online vendor gives free shipping after spending $95 or something. I'm not spending that for shipping even if it comes in a custom handmade cardboard box.

A friend in another forum has labeled his cellar as a 401T. With prices like that, I'm sure he's right. I have a few Esoterica 8 oz. bags...perhaps I'll never smoke them and they can further pad my cellar with other tobaccos I'll enjoy just as much!

I don't understand it. Esoterica can be beat by many, more readily available blends. Makes China look silly to me. I could go on about China, but I don't think it would be allowed...

Germain’s does make quality…but you’re right that there are just as tasty blends more readily available. However, one has to sample the Germain’s/Eso wears in order to determine that…lots of these exorbitant purchases are likely folks that haven’t yet dove deep into the gold bags and 💨ed them bag after bag. Once you do that you realize that chasing them doesn’t make too much sense. However, I’ll admit Germain’s Virginias do age very well….but so do most Virginias. ☕️
