I like Escudo quite a bit. It's the classic clean Va/Per. But there's Escudo and then there's Escudo, by which I mean that there have been different manufacturers, so the blend has varied in quality. The worst, for me, is the current one made by STG since 2009. It's still an enjoyable blend, but it lacks the depth of the A & C Petersen version, and doesn't improve with aging in the manner that the Peterson and earlier versions did. The newer releases are being made with Stokebbye tobaccos, so if you like Stokebbye, you'll probably like Escudo.
I like PS-LBF, but only after 4+ years of aging as it's bland as cardboard when fresh. You may experience this with the newer Escudo. If you do, let it age for a few years and try it again. It should ripen up to the extent that the STG product can.
