I have a high nic tolerance and even after decades of the pipe on occasion a bowl will still hit me. Just the way it is.

Lots of good advice above on how to tame things as your tolerance builds. Go slow and keep hydrated as you smoke. If you’re especially sensitive don’t smoke on an empty stomach.

I wonder if it would suit better then as a night smoke. Since I am somewhat insomniac, could that dizziness help any? Does it fare well as a night smoke?
In any case I enjoyed it and nothing else of what I smoked so far (aromatics only, Davidoff, Mac Baren, and Captain Black).
Before in my old house where I smoked inside, if I couldn't sleep usually my go to was a bowl of an extremely strong blend like brown bogie, and it would usually do the trick. Honestly though sometimes nicotine just creeps up on you, a few weeks ago I had a mouthful of redman and I got the hiccups, and I think redman has next to no nicotine in it, sometimes it just hits you different. Same with pretty much any tobacco, sometimes it just hits you

Ironically, it depends on the blend, how much nicotine you get from it, and how your system tolerates nicotine.

I can get a tingly sensation in the nose when i get "to much nicotine" when i smoke a pipe and try to sniff it in the bowl. I always get a tingly nose, and even lips, and face when people at work decide to vape around me inside the building.

But those things will determine how well it works for insomnia help. I have insomnia. I do notice a single bowl of something mellows me all day and makes me want to nap
