I was looking at Peterson's 05 in a few different models, the Dracula for one. Later I noticed an Erin Go Bragh "05".....is Erin Go Bragh to Peterson, as Rossi is to Savinelli? I tried researching it, got Irish expressions, pub songs, a band.

Also, being cheaper than Peterson is it because of a cheaper finish like Rossi? Thanks.

That is my impression as well. I can’t point to anything that proves it but it seems like I read something about it being the case on a Pipes & Cigars print catalog or such. Perhaps someone else can confirm this but I believe you are correct.

smokingpipes.eu has some Irish Seconds 05's for around $70USD. I saw at least one Dracula earlier today. You'll have to pay about $15 for shipping.

I'm considering an Irish Second to add to the collection.

Yeah I just read somewhere else a guy saying they were knock off Peterson pipes. They're kind of expensive for a knock off. 75 ish is in the ball park of a Peterson.
to me they have a very Doctor GreyBow look. The edges just aren't quite right. And they seem smaller or less robust then a Peterson. Which is one of the things that Petersons tend towards.

I matched up the measurements for the 05 Peterson VS. Erin 05 and its almost exact. Both are 5.5 length the other measurements are only off by .1. I agree though they have a look to them like things aren't lined up. For the price I'd pay the extra money for a Peterson.

What a weird brand seems like such a narrow market. Imitation irish pipes. It feels like the brand grandma bought for you present. The salesman said it's the one you liked.

I had an Erin pipe once. If you get them cheap, they aren't too bad. But their quality isn't up to Peterson. I had a Limerick, and it's army mount fit was really too tight and the walls of the pipe a bit thin. But for $60, it was a serviceable pipe and looked decent. I ended up gifting it to a friend.

They're clearly Peterson imitations, but I do not believe they are part of Peterson's company.

Thats exactly what I suspected. Thanks for the info.
