Interesting, but rant-inducing:
I wished the Marketing Department would make the tins more 'unqiue'. I have such a hard time remembering which is which. They all look the same, and the whole line-up of blends feels like an "us too" approach. Come on, you can do a better job, you HAVE to do a better job with all this finely-crafted hand-manufactured boutique blends and established cornerstones out there.
Now don't get me wrong - the 1931 from the 4th Generation series is an absolutely outstanding Burley blend, a real homerun. But overall, the presentation lacks distinction. This day and age there are over 5,000 blends to choose from, and if you want to get my attention and money you gotta show me whats so special about your new blend.
Oriental sun-cured tobaccos, enhanced by mature Virginias from the USA.
. Yawn! That could be pretty much anything, from EMP to Durbar. I want to see something like "rare golden Mysore", "fragrant Macedonian Yenidje", "barrel-aged Yellow Virginia". This sounds more like "aww no, now we have to put a stupid description on the tin, what a pity", rather than a blender who is dying of pride for the latest achievement.
Also, after trying to convince me of 4 Generations and almost 200 years of traditional Danish tobacco art), now the Founders all of a sudden are the masters of English/Oriental, too? Maybe it's only me but that's kind of a break in the story. :puffpipe:
