Entering my Minivan Years

Mike, that VW is actually just a regular van that had a whopping 50 horsepower. Dodge also had 8, 12 and 15 passenger vans before the Caravan. What made the Caravan special was the front wheel drive and 7 passenger seating in a much better design. The aerodynamics of a Caravan was superior to all of the old style vans. One of the reasons they were so popular was that woman felt comfortable driving them as they drove just like a car.

We are past the minivan stage. My wife loved them, because they did everything she wanted, while driving small kids around.
90% or more of my time is commuting alone. I miss my pickup, but it died at 235K miles. Maybe someday, I will get another one.

perhaps this 1982 model then Cigrmaster? :wink: I'm just giving you a hard time is all. Besides VW marketed that micobus as a wagon anyway.

Yeah, I was gonna say, according to Wolfsburg the Type II was a wagon. Could also be a pickup, without the greenhouse aft of the cab.
