Ennerdale, excellent stuff. Either way, I think given its status, all good pipe smokers have to try it at least once.
I have meant to chase some of this down. It sounds up my alley.
Unlike some, I like the recent incarnation of Ennerdale with toned down topping. Until recently I last smoked it 16 or so years ago and while enjoying the underlying tobacco flavors the perfuming topping was over the top to me. Now I find the topping intense but pleasant and still like the tobacco flavors.
yeah I stick with florals and unscented mostly. Only ones that don't get me sneezing or stopped up.
The tin note smells like my grandma and gives me a headache but the actual smoke is decent.
I am not getting drawn into this as the thread will erupt into a spasm of Ennerdale 'lovers' and 'haters' or worst Gawith bashers. So all I am going to say is the tobacco has evolved in many unusual and interesting ways over the last few years!
Wow just wow. I love it but I feel like I smoked an old ladies potporri bowl. Seriously it's awesome but I still feel like what the hell just happened.
where ever it was I love where it is now. Though I am also kind of afraid of it and wonder if I should get a pipe to dedicate to it.
It will leave it's mark on a pipe. I've got a few that I dedicate to heavily scented things such as Ennerdale.
I wonder if anyone considers the lack of Malawi leaf before they start carrying on about how the sauce changed?

Yeah I think the ole falcon might be the best sacrifice. It also seems to really like smoking it. Though if I am honest I think I need a bulldog to dedicate to this particular one.
Only problem is I should have ordered several pounds of it. The thing I pick up on the most is the tobacco and then the almond.
Of late, I've been alternating between Ennerdale and Coniston almost exclusively, so Ghostbusters not required. These two are exquisite!!
Coniston is on the list. In fact it was a toss up. Something told me Ennerdale would give me more of an opinion on the lakeland effect
Love it and so far the best way to pack the pipe is the ole roll it into a ball leaving an air pocket below.
My dear Aunt Ennerdale ... she's the one who wears too much lipstick and gives all the kids big wet sloppy kisses. She's an eccentric lady with outdated sensibilities, an exclusively hot pink wardrobe, an encyclopedic knowledge of erotic literature, and a penchant for flavored liquors. She talks too loud, has absolutely no filter, and you will smell her perfume three days after she leaves. She's a living legend in the Gawith Hoggarth lineup and holds down a firm position among my absolute favorite pipe tobacco blends of all time.
Love the stuff. If I don't have a supply of Ennerdale, Kendal flake (scented, of course), Conniston cut plug, and Bosun cut plug, I start to get a bit panicked. You should grab a tin of Grousemoor and/or 1792 flake, too, as they are both top notch as well.
I love it. Even dedicated a pipe to it. Wish I had some of the ultra "perfumed" stuff of the past. (So I've heard)
