The one thing you must be sure is that the pipe was made from an English Cob. If its one of the other hybrid corns, the flavor will be off.

My love of cobs is well documented. I have briar pipes set aside for English blends but I'm starting to reach for my cobs these days when I want some black house or FMC.

You bet they smoke good in a cob. Enjoying some Balkan Sasieni right now in a MM Country Gent.

I actually dedicate my cobs to blends like many do their briars. My very first cob gets nothing but PS Proper English smoked from it and I don't need to worry about a briar with an impossible ghost to rid

Although I enjoy my VaPer blends more often in a cob there's not many days that I don't have at least one bowl of an English or Balkan blend in one of my cobs.

One year old thread bump for the Cob ... yes!
English mixes are great in a larger cob bowl.

I just finished up the last of my H&H White Knight sample in a Country Gentleman ... perfect!

Without a moment's hesitation, I would take the world's most luxurious tobacco, whatever that may be, and smoke it in a cob. And lately I have learned that different varieties of corn impart a different flavor to the cob. May I humbly suggest Old Dominion corncob pipes. They're a sponsor of this forum, and their pipes impart a wonderful flavor to any tobacco you might choose to smoke.

I agree a corn cob is a great pipe for any blend, and also nice if your out on a boat drinking, and for some act of nature not saying you were drunk, fall in with pipe and all. Well at least it wasn't an expensive pipe.

Most types of blends are excellent in cobs, in my experience. I find that the heavier the English/Balkan, the better it smokes in a MM while "lighter" English blends tend to smoke okay but not great.
Gotta agree with this.
