McClelland TGL is the way to go, Lane's HGL is very good as well and English Aromatic's is a term for awesome blends that come together and taste damn good the best of both worlds.

Try mixing in some aromatic blend into a good English blend. Start with what English you like, and gradually add the aromatic blend that you like....5-parts English to 1-part aromatic. Write down the proportions...create your own personal mixture. The possibilities are endless.
But, Lane Ltd. "HGL" is a mild-crossover "English"-aromatic. It's really just "Captain Black" with a small amount of Latakia mixed into it. This blend was already suggested, along with some others.
You'll find what you want, and what your wife likes to sniff. The search is the fun.

I'll second chasingembers on the Hoffman "Distinguished Gentleman". I'd also add Dr. Bradley from Iwan Ries, it's a great crossover with a great room note and a bit of perique to brighten the whole experience.

It's not English.... But no around is technically. However, if you want to smoke inside grab a tin of autumn evening.
