My two favorite tobaccos are Sillem's Black and Boswell Northwoods, both of which seem to count as English Aromatics. Is there anything else out there worth trying? I've also tried 504C Aromatic English which has been ok so far but not something that makes me want to get more of.

I was a sucker and bought CD Black Frigate because sometimes I like to pretend I'm a cool Pirate, which I am not. On first trial BF started off like MacBarens Plumcake but with tons more sugar. It tries to finish like SG Navy Flake but with a ton of sugar. So if you like tons of sugar with your Latakia (I do not) I will gladly give you the rest of my Black Frigate, for free, I will even pay for shipping. I would rather suggest MB Plumcake or SG Navy Flake even though it is not an aromatic.
Cornell Diehl has shown me that I do not like sugary cavendish, or dripping with rum tobacco, or Cornell Diehl.

I do like sugar with my Latakia and BF as you’re describing it sounds like it’s right up my alley.

The only one I can think of is Lane HGL. I am not a huge fan of Latakia so I wasn't a fan of it, but it did have an aromatic type taste to it.
I forgot I tried HGL. It didn't wasn't particularly memorable but it’s been a while now. I’ll give it another shot.

You got a bad tin, BF's nowhere near an aromatic.

Cool skulls. Ever heard (I'm sure you have) of the 13 Skulls? Wonder if the legend is true or not, Smithsonian has one I believe.

Anyways, my tin of B.F tastes like a dumptruck of brown sugar, rum and latakia. Its such a contradiction that I am having problems to analogize how bad it is. Worcestershire sauce on chocolate cake maybe??
What should BF taste like?

I like hybrids too. Kramer's English Blend is a soft "English." Their Father Dempsey is harder. Both are good, according to my palate. Cary Grant's Blend might be agreeable to you, based on tin description. Haven't tried it yet.
