A Bruce it is, one he sent to me out of the blue back in 2018. I've always called it a long shanked acorn but elongate sounds more sophisticated.
That's why you buy the limit when you can on these small batches (assuming it sounds like something you could like). Unless it's a complete dog, which I don't recall seeing, you can always sell or trade it if you don't like it.
I agree, elongate does have a posh ring. If you can believe it, over the years I have acquired a posh vocabulary fit for most occasions. Trying to convince others that I'm a writer.
