I’m a big fan of Elizabethan Mixture too.
You're referring to the tins made by STD, now under the Peterson label, or Murrays era Dunhill tins? The Match Victorian is based on the Murray's version, so if you're not used that, then there are no other bulk items. Since all of the Match blends are under STD's execution orders it will remain around for a very limited time and then you won't have even that.

Yes, the Peterson version. I have never had Dunhill’s or Murray’s Elizabethan Mixture. I wish there was a bulk version that was a close match to the current Elizabethan but as you said, there isn’t. At least that I have found. That’s what has me trying my hand at home mixing. No problem if I’m not successful. It’s as much about the fun of doing as it is about making a proper match. As I said, I won’t stop building up my supply of Elizabethan Mixture so hopefully I will always have it on hand.

As some point the Peterson labeled Dunhill mixtures will go off the market. They are not on the list of STG products approved by the FDA. This is because these blends were pulled from the US market around 2008 thru 2010 which disqualifies them from being grandfathered in. It's possible that STG would pay for a "substantial equivalency" process, but doubtful, as they were not big sellers. Buy what you can, while you can.

Yup, my comment was to Brad regarding the difference in taste between the Elizabethan and Sutliff’s Match with a side reference to the Elizabethan Match/Match Victorian name change that some sellers (TPcom being Sutliff’s shop) still refer to the latter being the former.
And also I was pointing out that under neither name does the “Match” taste like the STG/Peterson Elizabethan Mixture.
As to a less expensive alternative to the Elizabethan mixture I didn’t directly comment because I don’t like it, so I haven’t an alternative😉

Looking back I can see how my post was clear as mud…
yup, he did alert me to check the cellar..... which glad he did!!

A few ways. You could mix a couple of drops of food grade apricot essential oil to a potable alcohol and lightly mist the tobacco or you could put the same mixture into a shot glass then place the shot glass into a plastic container, surround the glass with tobacco, then seal the container.

Thanks! That sounds interesting. What alcohol would you recommend and how long should it ‘percolate’ before smoking?
