I have smoked P&C match blended, "ELIZABETHAN" and I think this tobacco blend is quite good. I never tried the original Dunhill version, and I probably won't because Dunhill is supposed to be getting out of the tobacco business. Why get to enjoy smoking a blend that may not exist in a short time?
Anyway, are there any alternative bulk-blends that come close to match-"Elizabethan"....maybe a McClelland, or, Stokkebye blend? I know very little about Virginia/Perique mixtures, far less than you guys know. Suggest some other choices to pick, from the many Virginia/Perique blends.
Thanks. Have a great holiday!
Frank

Daughters & Ryan Rimboche A.P. This comes in the 1 lb. bulk, medium sized tubs (3½ oz.) and 1.4 oz. tins.

I think it's very close to Match Elizabethan, which in turn is close to Dunhill Elizabethan; but I prefer the small tins because the 1 lb. bulk is dry.
Personally, I'd just stock-up on the P&C's (Sutliff's) Match Elizabethan. Sample a tin of the D&R stuff for kicks.

I don't know guys ... from all the Virginia Perique out there, Elizabethan Mixture by Dunhill is not very high on my list.

This is not helpful since it is discontinued, but the Sutliff Westminster (not GLP's) is said to be close to Elizabethan. I'm smoking a tin of the Sutliff now.

Though not a fan of most of Dunhill's offerings, Elizabethan is my favorite VaPer out of all of them I've tried. Mac Baden's Acadian Perique comes second.

I find this one rather tasty as well, and decent on the Nicotine scale, which keeps me from wondering if I am smoking flavored lawn clippings. No idea if there is a good match, but find the cut of the Dunhill version to be part of its appeal.

MSO: actually, Sutliff's Westminster was a copy of Dunhill London Blend, and is sold in bulk. The tinned version of Sutliff's Elizabethan Match was Golden Age.
I much prefer the Match Elizabethan over the current version. The Match version is fairly close, but not an exact copy of the Murray's production. As far as a bulk alternative, the Match is just that, so I'd echo Cortez's comment, and stick to that, and try a D&R A.P. Rimboche. I'd also recommend the S.J. and A.B. Rimboche blends.

Thanks for all the suggestions and the names of some alternative blends/mixes.
Match "Elizabethan" is the only blend that I have tried so far, and enjoyed this blended mix very much. But, one always thinks there might be another blend that might be more enjoyable. So, I asked, really, more out of curiosity.
Appreciate the feedback.

Yeah, that's the whole "journey" thing, I guess. VaPers are rapidly becoming the most represented genre in pipe smoking, IMO. I just did a quick and dirty search at TR.com, looking for VaPers with a 3 or 4 star rating, and found 125.
If your OP was seeking a VaPer that is even better than Elizabethan that would open up a whole can of worms.

I love Elizabethan. I've tried some people's 'highly-rated, better than EM' tobaccos, and was never very impressed. This might be a 'to-each-their-own' thing.

If you haven't tried C&D Briar Fox, I suggest you do. It reminds me of Elizabethan. Just better.

I know the feeling. If you find something that fits your needs, no point looking further unless you get curious. "If it ain't broke..."
Then again, I think there are some great Va/Pers out there, even if I am not fond of some of the big ones (OGS).
