I had no luck with electrics when I tried them. About 6 or so years ago I tried traditional wet shaving and never looked back. I have built up an insane amount of brushes, creams, soaps, and other accessories and use a straight razor pretty much every morning. I also own an information/educational site on the subject as well.

Greetings,
Norelco all the way! I prefer the rotary action of the Norelco vs. the buzzing of other brands. Much smoother, quieter w/ less vibration. Just a more comfortable and closer shave overall.
Of course, YMMV.

I can give you a tip on preventing razor burn and nicks. Instead of shaving cream use hair conditioner. Once had to use it in a pinch and have never stopped since. It also helps make the beard nice and smooth for the other half to run her fingers through.

I use a mug 'n brush with a modern razor and it works great. I'm considering switching to the old DE for when I grow my winter beard out.

when i was in basic i was forced to shave twice a day. i use a braun with a cleaning station now and shave in the AM and then throw it in my bag to take with me. I envy those who can go days without shaving...

Just to confuse things even more...what you all call "Norelco" in USA is "Phillips" in Canada and some other places. So depending where its shipped from it could be either brand and I found "Phillips" with the 3 rotory wheel blades to work best.

Razors, now that is a good question, while in the Army I had an electric razor or two for a while and it never gave a clean shave no matter the brand, my wiskers are like barbed wire and I can kill all electric Razors in a week. The best and cleanest shave is a good old fashioned (No not necessarily straight razor) but blade shave, whether safety, straight or whatever.

I know that does not answer the mail but in my day in the Army there was no such thing as a bathroom hog, we all shared the bathroom with the platoon, so it was get your shit done and get the hell out. If that dont work just get up 5 minutes before your "roommate".
