Sadly special sauce doesn't refer to that, it's equally as gross though. Spitting on people's burgers is a huge practice too if you ask for any specific substitutions, especially if you send something back.

What a bunch of McBullshit ... I would have asked to speak to the manager.
I don't care if you're making $8.00 or $80.00 an hour, show some pride in your work.
As my Grandfather always said, "Work isn't supposed to be fun. If it was, they'd charge admission".
Call me old-fashioned ... but I just won't stand for poor service if money is leaving my hands.

Yes times do change. Our parents and grand parents probably said the same things about us when we were young. However, the one difference between then and now is respect. Why would a young person respect their job and their customers when they don't respect their parents, their teachers, or themselves. Sorry, but if you have orange hair, and earrings the size of batteries hanging from ear lobes, your lips, and your nose, you don't have respect for yourself.
I see the non-respect from kids all of the time. I teach Drivers Ed part time. The kids are in the car with me and when they are I see the disrespect for me, (but I put an end to that crap in hurry), how they talk about their parents, and their teachers. I also travel the country talking to high school aged kids. I don't care if I'm in Ca, NY, Ohio, or east bumf--k, the disrespect is equal.
I have students 16 years old saying to me. "Frank, when I pass my road test my parents are buying me a new Range Rover, or Mustang, or Grand Cherokee. When I tell them my first car I bought and it was a 1955 chevy for $150, they ask me. Why didn't your parent buy you one?"
I blame a lot of this on the parents. Kids in school get away with too much. Teachers hands are tied because of PC, and regulations. And then parents blame the teachers when their babies are out of control. Back in the day, if I disrespected a teacher, I would get it from the teacher, then the mean ass principal, and then my Marine father.
By the time I started my first job, respecting myself and others was now the normal thing to do.

I guess I'm lucky. My closest McDonald's is apparently controlled by hands-on managers. The service is good, the staff fresh faced and polite, I like polite, and the food . . . well it is Mickey D's and I always have low expectations. I don' go there for tasty, I go for the speed.
Complaints to McDonald's HQ redound on the franchisee, I like that. When I have a complaint I skip the local level. If the local franchisee was on the ball the problems wouldn't be there in the first place. It took a while up here but, the Burger King franchisee finally lost his contract. Shops were dirty and staff in all the locations were under supervised and under trained. When you see the manager always has the parking place right outside the customer entrance you can bet someone isn't paying attention. The new operator closed some shops and really pays attention to the product and the staff behavior.

I guess I should bite my tongue here. Reading this thread makes me feel like the reverse of an old cop getting a hard case dropped on his desk the week before he retires.
"I'm too young for this shit"

On second thought, I will say one thing. Maybe if people had more respect for service workers and didn't take this attitude:
2428j7b.jpg

they may have a little more pride in what they do. As is they're "losers" you're willing to throw away in favor of a computer to peck your order into (though I think someone on here once complained about how gross the touch screens get and was upset they had to use one at a Chili's rather than get a waiter). Society demeans those who work in industries like this, and yet we still demand and need ditch diggers, while treating them poorly and teaching them they're losers because of what they do. Not the way to get a happy and helpful workforce.
I guess once they've been replaced by computers you'll be thrilled to help pay their unemployment and welfare checks, though, so at least there's some consistency in the attitude.

I'm not sure if its everywhere, but in my neck of NYC, (bronx) coffee, any size at McD's is 99 cents. And, the coffee is excellent.
But
I can't go in there. I am a cruel boss and send my employees in there to fight with them to get a 'dark' coffee. Since creams and sugars were removed from customer's hands, (this is a very simple money issue) getting the staff to understand anything about one's likes and dislikes about treating coffee is nearly impossible.
I know the owner of this McDonalds. A great guy and his entire livelyhood depends on this one and a few others. His margin is incredibly slim and getting help is nearly impossible in the local neighborhood-he actually has to bus them in from other locations. I'm guessing the average IQ of the staff is around 87.2.
Yes, adults have been complaining about 'kids today' (hey, remember Bye Bye Birdie-'whats the matter with kids today?) since the beginning of time, but the downward spiral from generation to generation is frightening.

Stalin, Higher minimum wage isn't going to make McDonald's workers better employees. It's going to make them unemployed. If McD's is forced to pay more, they will hire better people.

Then the Politburo will just have to force them to keep the inferior workers. The Party has a remedy for all problems.

But isn't she really exactly the same as someone who works hard, exceeds the expectations of their employer, solves otherwise intractable problems, anticipates customer's needs and always brings in a box of donuts for their coworkers every Friday?

Just think, in two years she'll be able to vote for our next president.
(dochudson isn't sure that having orange hair and body piercings is related to the bad service. I'm pretty sure it is.)
