If the stem and chamber size/shape have an effect, then the shape of the actual bowl (not chamber) should have an effect. This one I showed a pic of has thick walls, does that keep it insulated more from the cold, or have any other effect?

I'm very surprised hearing these opinions about shape/size making no difference. To me at least, there's a significant difference in flavor between a .75" bowl vs a 1" bowl.
Tobacco seems to burn toward the center of the tobacco. Too broad a bowl, for me, requires tamping and stirring that brings ash in to my smoking. This one reason I like the bottom of Falcons. They tend to bring the draw to the sides of the chamber.

I think the main advantage of thicker walls are lower temperatures. I have the same shape dedicated to straight Virginias which are easier to handle in chunky pipes than in those with thin walls.
Okay that makes sense, that's the kind of thing I was curious about. I think I will dedicate this pipe to Virginia

Not sure if I made this clear, but I'm speaking to the shape of the pipe and it's walls, not necessarily the chamber itself
That's why I noted the difference if the twi in my first post in this thread ?

The only advantage of thicker walls is that the surface of the pipe will remain cooler. The smoke is still being drawn from the same ember that would be burning in a wall with thinner walls. Cool smoke comes from the technique of the smoker, not the design of the pipe.

On a totally different subject, I saw a thread from years ago about you trying to case a blend with cinnamon, trying to recreate Angler's Dream. I wanted to see what ended up working for you. I want to make my wife a blend and flavor it with cinnamon for Christmas because she loves cinnamon and likes the pipe. I know I could just buy a cinnamon blend but I wanted to make my own blend. Did you have any luck with yours? Was it a decent flavor? I don't want anything that will bite her tongue but I don't want it to be too subtle either.

Thickness of the wall and not the chamber? I don't think thick or thin wall has anything to do with how the blend tastes. At least, I don't notice any difference. But thick walled bowls are less likely to pass the heat to my hand. Doesn't really matter. If it gets little too warm, I just clench it and slow down. Only happens with few Va blends.

I ended up soaking cinnamon sticks in two ounces of Everclear for a week. I sprayed the solution on cubed cut burley and jarred it for a month. Turned out quite well.?

How not relevant? A container isn't going to change the flavor of a tobacco anymore than it would the macaroni.

My biggest problem was trying to find a spoon small enough to get the mac ‘n’ cheese out of my pipe, but then I remembered I had a Czech tool with a spoon on it. Great for portion control, but...dang, Velveeta ghosts a pipe something fierce, so I’m gonna have to have a dedicated mac ‘n’ cheese pipe.
