Nice find!
What shop in what town/city?
And where do you live, please? ( I am born and raised an Illini.)

Please put your location in your Profile!
Why: It will save time for others when you mention local stores, weather, tobacco prices, availability, regulations, location of photos, wildfires, air quality, etc.
How: Under your avatar, (top right, left most of three symbols) you choose "Account Details", which brings up "My Account". "My Location" is halfway down.

I frequented Edward's on Henderson Boulevard in Tampa. I worked nearby at "the Commons" building on Dale Mabry. Tampa, of course, is home to a lot of cigar shops. I lived across the Bay in Dunedin. I currently live in the small country town of McLean, Il.

I enjoyed the read. Anyone else read the part where you can use commercial car cleaning abrasives to shine up your pipe? I've got an old can of rubbing compound from a time when cars had real paint on them.

Yes and cringed a bit. Don't think I will be trying it but feel free to report back.

We had several Edward's Pipe and Tobacco shops around Atlanta back in the 90s. There was one close to me in Clarkston and, unfortunately, I was a cigar knucklehead and walked right past all the delicious pipe tobaccos for years. I wish I had made some photos of those shops back then, it would be so cool to see it all again.

Fortunately, I was in Tampa for a meeting today, and I was able to pop in for a visit to the Henderson Blvd location. Such a great place. Like stepping back in time.

Gordon (2nd gen proprietor) runs the place with his daughter Jen, and Mike works along side them. He had some great stories to share, and the regulars are a good group to sit down and fire up a bowl with. Looking forward to visiting again.

Screw Franks air pocket method, It also recommends the delayed gratification technique, using carnauba waxes, which was in those rubbing compounds, and the water flush method. If this was all advocated back then, why the hell do guys all develop these strange phobias of these things?
Do you have children? How many of them always think they know better way to do things than you do?

Not one of my biological children but a good example. Back when I was still on active duty I had this one young petty officer who worked for me and was constantly questioning why I did things I did or tried to teach them. He applied to OCS and became an officer and stayed in for about 10 years before resigning and going to seminary school. We reconnected a few years ago and he sent me this really nice letter. He said it didn't take long after he received his commission to realize that he should have paid more attention to what I tried to teach him about leadership.
