balkisobrains: When a lead bidder drops withdraws his bid before the auction ends, the bid collapses all the way down to where the bids were before his bids began. If he ends up winning and does not pay, sable covered it, the seller sometimes make an offer at a lower price for you to buy it, other times you'll see the same pipe relisted in a week or two.
Officially, people who bid and then cancel their bid, annoy me. No other type of bidding bothers me.

I swear... It burns me up also. Usually for something under $200, which isn't going to bankrupt someone. They should be forced to buy it, and relist it themselves if they change their mind. It is a huge waste of time for everyone.
And, if $200 is going to bankrupt someone, then they shouldn't be playing with adults on a money based websites with other working adults.

<p>Well... I’ve enjoyed reading all of this discussion over the last week or two. I am happy to announce that I did win a pipe recently (a Cellini Original which I kind of collect). I’m sad to announce that, as best I can tell right now, it was stolen from my front porch after USPS dropped it off this week. ;) You can’t make this stuff up! My lesson... Ebay may not be my best bet moving forward.

Not on the last day, when the shill can take the lead & then bail, & then the second-highest bidder is stuck in the lead with their max proxy.
