Nice. What are the markings/shape number on it? Any idea of the era?

Stamp on the bottom says 312 Made in Ireland. DOn't know that date. Is there a way to tell?

Tulsa, go to pipedia on the internet. An excellent reference site. Do a search on Peterson and you will see the information on dating your new Pete. You may just get addicted to Pete's. I have a few as well. I like the older pipes too.

I went to Pipedia/Peterson and did some reading. The band is nickle and has K&Peterson stamped on it, and beneath that are the Shamrock, Fox and Tower hallmarks described in the article. The back of the bowl says Peterson System Standard 312, above that in smaller letters is Made in the Republic of Ireland. Interesting but it doesn't tell me when it was made.

I think that I can see "Republic", so it was made after 1946. Unfortunately, there's no way to narrow it down further.

I could be wrong, but I didn't think Peterson hallmarked nickel, so I think your band is actually sterling silver. Heck of a buy!

Btp79, Peterson has "faux" hallmarks on nickel. They actually don't mean anything.
