Frasortoret (not mine) here: www.ebay.com/itm/Fantastic-Vintage-Frasorteret-LG-Sz-Hand-Made-Smoking-Pipe-Denmark-Exc-Cond-/111568383079?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19f9fe6c67
Aside from the oxidation, it looks to be in great shape.

chasingembers, You're welcome. I bought a pipe from that seller quite a while back. They are not a pipe expert, but my experience was good. Sablebrush52 might be able to tell you if the price is right.

When I posted the link I did not realize that is the only Frasortoret on eBay. Now I know why sable said you have to "keep an eye out".

BTW, Duane, keep an eye out for the Preben Holm 2nd's, which are marked "Frasortoret", if you are not already aware of them. Often really big, beautiful blasted freehands that smoke exceptionally well.
So true and great advice.
Another Preben 2nd to look out for is called Ils and they often go under the radar.
I have one and it smokes very well, it has a true conical bowl.
Preben's talent for sandblasting was most excellent, I'd argue that it was on the same high level with which he chased fine grain on a smooth pipe - he made some incredible jawdropping beautiful stuff no doubt.
The pipe I have is an acorn and could pass for a contemporary made pipe if it wasn't for the freehand-style stick bit (but his stems are great too I think) - in fact, I'd say the shape execution and the blasting quality are actually better than many of the current artisan pipe makers I've seen! No lie. He made this in the late 60's or mid 70's or something and it stands the test of time, it would look fresh on any sellers shelf!

About Pipestud,

he's one of the best no doubt.
I love how he contributes on the forums, how he has a great sense of humor, and how he freely passes on good info, as well as his tobacco reviews, which I love and trust.
I've bought baccy 'n pipes from him,

always with perfect service!

5 Star

no doubt.
In fact,

I bought a barely smoked Ashton lovat from him a while back, it was my first Ashton and that thing has turned out to be one of my go to smokers, I'm constantly smoking it! It's a 2012 Craig piece and of my small 6 pipe sample of Ashtons, it is by far the best smoker - I have 3 from Taylor, 3 from Craig...
...William had a special talent and skill for blasting which I prefer over the newer stuff, but Jimmy makes the best stems hands down, and he's not exactly a slouch in the blast dept either.
Three Cheers for Pipestud!

Indeed, he has done right by me with my Wade. Will definitely be doing business with him in the future.
