What a beauty! Good on you for taking them in and especially for taking the proper actions to make sure these monsters don't do that again. In my book, people who abuse animals are in the same category as people who abuse children, and they sadly tend to get away with it much of the time. People who rescue abused animals, however, are some of the finest people I know.
