That’s the nature of eBay. Some auction sites will extend bidding 15 minutes if there is a bid in the last 15 minutes. Whether that works to the advantage of the seller I don’t know…

I haven't used e-Bay in many years, but those last-second bids are robotic. You can use a page or a program that only offers at the last minute.
