Bent Mike: I have long thought that the original family might be Dunghill. After all, the family business was bridlemaking.

Whats the big deal with Dunhill !
With the pipe collection you mention, one would have to assume that you have been a pipe smoker for longer than a week or so. If you have been, then you are probably already aware what "the big deal" is with Dunhill.
If you weren't aware of what "the big deal" is with them, then I (along with some of my comrades here) would have a difficult time believing anyone who is unaware of the Dunhill name, would pay the money (around $450 USD) it takes to buy a Ruby Bark Group 5 pipe. Just saying...With that in mind, and your lack of response, one would have to assume that you are what is referred to as "trolling".

@chrisspipe66 Show yourself (or at least your pipe)!

What were you expecting for a response?

Why are you not responding?

Are you a "real" Troll?

Troll much?

Quality control and customer service are part of the "big deal" with Dunhill. If you really do have a pipe you're unhappy with, I'm sure the company would love to hear about it. They haven't remained in business for over a century by pawning off "rubbish" on unsuspecting chumps like you for inflated prices.

I've no idea if the guy who started this is on the level or not, but I will say that I've been sorely disappointed in both Dunhills I have owned (a 63 shell briar and a 69 smooth finish). They were gorgeous, but every Savinelli I have owned outsmoked them by a large margin. I wouldn't call them crap or compare them with a Dr. Grabow, but I was damn happy to trade one for a few pounds of tobacco.

Hey who wants to bet how many posts this takes before the original OP replies or it gets shut down by a mod?
