Tried this for the first time last night. Enjoyed it -- a really classic English blend, where the Turkish elements seemed to dominate to my palate.
But oh my. A serious does of Vitamin N -- not quite Peterson Irish Oak strong, but way up there.
Not sure I'd want to go to bed right after a bowl of that.

Had the same experience some week ago, tried it for the first time, tasted fantastic, but I got quite a kick

This blend was a funny one for me, the first few bowls, I couldn't stand it...but, I perservered. One evening, a masochistic streak came over me, and I loaded up a bowl of Nightcap in a pipe that I couldn't stand (a bent tomato), and expecting the worst, applied flame. Much to my surprise, pure bliss ensued.
I currently have ten tins in the cellar, and one in the active rotation.

Been a while since I had any Nightcap - might have to get some. With it being difficult to get Dunhill blends for so long, that one dropped out of my rotation. I used to be fond of Durbar, which, alas, has been discontinued. I'm quite fond of the old "Light Flake" (now just "Flake",I guess); there are several tins aging in my cellar. Just finished a 5 year old tin a couple of weeks ago.

I have always wondered how they name tobacco. Sometimes they work and sometimes I can't quite figure out what they were thinking. I am not sure where this fits yet... I'll smoke on it. :puffpipe:

It's a different critter than Penzance - and I say this as a guy who just smoked a bowl of Penzance last night. (Love the stuff.)
As far as the name goes - well, a "nightcap" is the final drink of the evening (as well as the old-fashioned thing for the noggin). Same idea.
