Can someone either validate my memory or correct me? I believe about 10 years ago and before, Dunhill sold "Light Flake" and "Flake" in square tins. Then the U.S. banned the word "Light" in connection with any tobacco product. So Dunhill rebranded as "Flake" and "Dark Flake." So if my memory is correct, today's "Dark Flake" is today's version of the original "Flake." And today's "Flake" is what used to be marketed as "Light Flake." But it's been a while and my memory could be wrong.

My direct experience only goes back to 2016 with these. So I can't answer your question perfectly. I thought the Dark Flake has/had a small amount of perique added while the Flake is straight Virginia.
