Dunhill Dating - Help appreciated

Hello Dunhill experts,

I have the opportunity of buying a pipe, of which this is the nomenclature:





Beforehand, I would like to know roughly from which period this particular pipe is. This has no year suffix, so I'm not sure, how to narrow it down to a year... Do you Dunhill experts have any suggestion?

1951! For some reason Dunhill didn’t date-stamp in 1951. The patent number, Group number, and lack of date code puts this surely at 1951. My dad’s birthyear!

I am certainly not an expert but I reckon it is between 1948-1950. In 1951 I think they changed the stamping from Shell to Shell Briar.

Sometime between 1950 and 1954. The group number was first used in 1951 (circled 4). The patent number was dropped in 1955.

Dunhill did stamp date codes in 1951.

‘R’ Shape pot was supposedly made in 1950. Possibility group no could have been introduced in 1950(?).

Somebody besides me can probably elaborate more...

I would say 1950 or '51. Leaning more towards 1950. See ODA 841 here,
