There looks to be a tin of Dunhill, not peterson, dark aged flake on cigarbids. Is this a sign that it might come back to the USA ? Seems unusual
It’s Pete. They’re just using old stock photos. There looks to be a tin of Dunhill, not peterson, dark aged flake on cigarbids. Is this a sign that it might come back to the USA ? Seems unusual
Well, that’s not cricket, is it?It’s Pete. They’re just using old stock photos.
I don’t know about that. Peterson doesn’t make Dark Flake (at least not for the USA). They do also have an active lot of Pete Flake that uses the Peterson pic, so this one may actually be legit. It’s Pete. They’re just using old stock photos.
I know they make Pete Dark Flake overseas, but it's odd either way. Strange that CI would have a single tin of Dunhill or an overseas blend. Very strange listing.I don’t know about that. Nope, just an old tin of something. There looks to be a tin of Dunhill, not peterson, dark aged flake on cigarbids. Is this a sign that it might come back to the USA ? Seems unusual
Back in 2018, when BAT agreed to sell the rights to produce the Dunhill branded blends to STG, that sale didn’t include the right to use the Dunhill name. So when STG resumed production it used the Peterson name, for which they owned the tobacco rights.I got a tin of Pete Dark Flake in Scotland last year, it's out there.
I just thought Pete Irish Flake was a clone of Dunhill dark, so the dark doesn't get circulated in US.
Speculation.
Dark Flake is Virginias with a touch of Perique. Irish Flake is Virginias with Dark Fired and a touch of burley, with a light topping of anise. They are not the same blend at all.I hear yah, I think I meant the Peter Irish is to the US what the Pete Dark Flake is to the UK.
That being said, the tin had years of age on it, I think 2019?
I gave it to a pal that likes Dark Flake.
Scandinavian Tobacco Group (STG) bought the rights, not Peterson. Peterson tobaccos are also owned and manufactured by STG. They were rebranded under Peterson rather than Dunhill. As Ye Olde Signe was a re-release, I`m not sure what the status of the other blends (Durbar; MM1938; MM221B Baker Street, London Mixture etc.), also re-releases, is as of now on the other markets. When the FDA deeming regs first came out, to beat the deadline, Dunhill released two or three new blends (dark flake, ye olde signe, and possibly one other) back in 2016. Dunhill then stopped putting it's name on pipe tobacco, and the rights were sold to Petersen, about a year later. Petersen then chose to not continue selling these new blends in the US. As such, what you are seeing is a tin from 2016-2017.
If the tin bears the Dunhill name on it, pre 2018.That being said, the tin had years of age on it, I think 2019?
