Started pipe smoking recently...heard about this Dunhill thing...bought and loved Dunhill Nightcap...started to freak out about not being able to get "my favorite." But then I had Quiet Nights...then I had Mississippi River & Plum Pudding...etc. Not as concerned about Dunhill anymore.

Once it's gone... it won't be gone. Its not being discontinued, it's just not being distributed to the USA anymore. If you really want some Dunhill after "it's gone" then just buy it from a European retailer such as the Danish Pipe Shop.

I stocked up years ago on Dunhill Flake and Deluxe Navy Rolls. Their closing will not impact me but I am still sad that a name with that kind of history is calling it quits.

No reason. I happened to talk to one of the retailers about getting some Margate and he told me that he can't get Dunhill anymore.

Apparently the Canadian distributor is Brigham enterprises. Our local b&m has plenty of Dunhill at $42 - $45 Canadian a tin

I cellared deep a few years ago when PC had a great sale on. I have enough Flake, Dark Flake, & Navy Rolls to last at least two generations.

I'll miss Dunhill. Even though better blends are currently on the market, and even though the "Dunhill" brand has for some time merely been a label, the brand's image is one that creates a sense of historical continuity and embodies the subtle elegance of pipe smoking. While it's true that we smoke tobacco, not tins, I will miss the Nightcap tin art depicting a classic clay pipe, a candle, and a night cap, and the description of "a rich flavoured smoking mixture for the evening with its period of relaxation and leisure."

Over the past month or so I've grabbed a few pounds of dark flake. Even went out on a limb and picked up a pound of Royal Yacht after a quick sampling. I'm pretty sure my Dunhill purchases are finished.
