I just recently found pipelist.com. I find their prices to be a bit on the high end, and I'd swear that 1948 LB has a replacement stem. They bought a pipe from me on eBay and I am sure they intend to mark it up and resell it at much higher price. Good for them if they can get what they are asking, but I bet those pipes aren't flying off the shelves.

Sam, I would think you are correct about the stem, an LB doesn't have a bent stem......

Also, what looks a little questionable about this Peterson's, watch the video,

Was fortunate to find mine recently....a 1952 Tanshell. They are not getting cheaper.

I would say most definitely an 8. I'll give the seller credit for having very good picture in his listings, for understanding Dunhill dating...not so much. This "1942" is clearly 1952.

Actually the second mistakenly dated 1942 in a week. Sent this seller a very polite correction on the dating, never heard back... One has to be careful on the 'bay...

Good Eye on those Dave! I agree on all of them.........

Agreed that one has to be cautious. I do believe though 9 times out of 10 the seller is just not up to speed on dating Dunhills..... Hell, I get them confused alot too!!

I'm new at this dating thing but isn't that last 1942 really a 1942 since Dunhill and Shell are in the same line?

Seacaptain- I think the fact that it has the 4 in a circle and the S makes it a '52. They started that in 1951.....

Many later pipes have the Dunhill and Shell on the same line, especially the smaller pipes.....

I just got one today, a 1966 shape 90 (poker) size 2, and it has Dunhill Shell on one line..... Confusing stuff for sure!!!
I usually use this as my guide.....Dunhill Dating Guide

Just thought I'd give you guys a heads up on this. Seller says it's 1946 but the suffix looks like an 8 to me. I don't know anything about the seller, I just saw it while cruising ebay.
